Ben the dog and his Spinal Injury

Well, its been very busy here, mum has been working hard which means I get to sleep all day and then get loads of cuddles when she gets home - this is the life!!

Well August has flown by and it's been a good month all round.  The accupuncture has really been helping me and mum and dad have taken me to the beach lots to help me with my walking.  Mum was told by the man in Texas thats help animals with rehabilitation that walking on sand is good for me has it helps me to be aware of where my paws are going and what they are doing and it also strengthens the muscles.  The vet who does the accupuncture says she notices a difference in the w...

Mum has said that she only has time to update my blog once in a while now she is back at work, so I think the updates will be monthly with anything mega exciting added as and when! (like the quiz night that mum is holding in aid of the Glasgow Vet Hospital - it is the 25th September in Dundee.

Well, we had a lovely holiday on the Island of Skye, I so wish my legs had been better so I could have run in the beach and played in the sea, I had to stay on the lead though as I try to run and jump and mum says that means I can damage my back further

The cottage had a lovely grden and it was all fenced off with a big metal gate and the 1st day we got there mum let me off the lead and I ran about daft, mum couldn't get me to come back as there were loads of new smells, ...

I had to get up early today as I left with Dad to go to his work, well, I wasn't going to his work but he was dropping me off at the swimming pool.  We got there just after8am and it was the same girl I had helping me swim last time so it was fine.  I gotlots of cuddles.  Dad had brought my bed and my Kong with me so I just settled down nicely.  Dad asked the lady if she would phone mum and let her know I was doing ok (as no doubt mum would be worrying!)

Have been getting longer and longer walks which I am enjoying and on Sunday mum and dad took me to the park.  That's the 1st time I have been there since before I became ill.  I didn't get off the lead but it was great to get to see the park and smell all the different doggy smells etc.  I can't wait till I am allowed to run about again.  On Monday I got into trouble as I found a big football in the cupboard (well mum should have made sure it was shut properly) and I got i...

I am still enjoying getting a bit more freedom and being allowed to get out the back off my lead.  I have been trying hard to get mum and dad to let me up on the furniture but they say its really bad for my back so they keep telling me no.

On Saturday I had more Hydrotherapy in the afternoon.  I was really good.  I got 3 swim sessions and I really love the pool.  The Lady says I am a very strong swimmer and she was having difficulty holding me back. ...

Had Hydrotherapy again today I wasn't at all sacred this time and really enjoyed it

No real change again though I have been a bit unsteady on my feet.  But then the "postman" shoves stuff through a wee hole in the door and I have to jump up and get it(bet that isn't doing my legs and paws any favours), just to make sure it is safe to be landing in mum and dads house.  Mum tells me I have to be calm, but what if that "postie" delivered something dangerous!!

Mum and dad have been to see about the quiz night and turns out the pub that would let me in...
